program notes

….The music is easily accesible…and the performers must have enjoyed her colorful orchestration, especially ‘To a Cat.’ Her ease and freedom in writing for a large ensemble are indicative of an experienced composer, one who has evolved from the earlier use of the orchestra as a woodwind, brass, and string choirs…to a fluid mixing and contrasting of instruments as used in the Sonnets.
